Employee Benefit Plan Audits

Why should you use Clark Nuber to audit your employee benefit plans?

We have the right team in place.

Our audit professionals receive specialized training, both in the classroom and on the job. They attend annual AICPA conferences on employee benefit plan audits. We are a member of the AICPA's national Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, a special interest group designed to assist firms in keeping up with the most recent developments and training opportunities in this specialized area. Our commitment to training ensures that we are able to provide our clients with recommendations that minimize fiduciary related risks, improve plan operations and strengthen internal controls.

We have a proven track record.

We currently audit more than 130 plans with 180,000 participants and over $4 billion in assets. According to the United States Department of Labor, there are only 68 firms nationwide that audit 100 or more plans a year. Our audits include "full scope" and "limited scope" engagements, plans with just over 120 participants to several thousand participants, and from $1 million to more than $500 million in plan assets. Based on our experience as plan auditors, we generally can predict the estimated fees for an audit with a high degree of accuracy. Our fees are competitive with other audit firms in the Puget Sound area. Click here to see video

We use technology for security and productivity.

Although email is an easy way to communicate, we don't think it is a good way to transmit sensitive employee information. For that reason, we have created an internet based web portal to facilitate safe, secure transmittal and storage of confidential data from our clients to our auditors. We also use technology applications to streamline the audit process, and electronic work paper binders to capture, organize and evaluate audit data. Most of our audit work papers are standardized in terms of both content and format, which expedites client preparation and auditor review.
